Today is my turn to share my story to all of you. I am going to write about the true meaning of April Fools’ Day. It is believed that people started to celebrate April Fools’ Day during the downfall of the Islamic government in Spain. After centuries of living in Granada, Spain, the Islamic government was attacked by Christian soldiers. The Islam’s that live in Spain (Moors) were forced to stay in their houses to save their lives. The Christian soldiers were not satisfied and decided to abolish the Islamic population in Spain. On 1st April, the Christian soldiers searched thoroughly and destroyed the houses of the Islam residents. They then killed all of them including the Muslim men, women and children without sympathy. After reading this, I hope everyone won’t celebrate April Fools’ Day anymore as this is a bad reminder to the rest of the Islamic population.

Whoa, I definitely haven't heard the real story behind April Fools' Day. I just thought it was a day to prank someone.

Well, at least now i know. :) Lesson learnt. Find out the history of something before "celebrating" it.

but people nowadays are neglecting it as they thought it was nothing as long as they had no any intention to celebrate it except for fun...
juz like what ain said, we need to spread the information and let them have a'muhasabah diri' bout what happen to islam's people on the past days...

nowadays, people in this world only think about theirselves and not take care about each others esp the muslim.
the morals are we musnt celebrate april fool and from now we must care a lot about muslim people in this world...
i never celebrate the april fool before.. but some of my friends at school never forgot to make me fooled by them on 1st april.. make me clumsy, and sometime make me looked stupid. not only to us, hope the muslims outside also will not celebrate april fool day..

ReplyDeletethe fact is, many of the muslims out there still celebrating "special days" like this, eventhough they had known the history behind it. same goes to valentine. i think it is parents' responsibility to forbid their children from celebrating it and also tell them why they couldn't.
